SPEAKER_01Woo! We got a special guest, Mr. Steve Brown, fantasy football expert in the house.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Thank you. How are you feeling? Feeling good. This is awesome. So I appreciate the invite. And you know, uh, episode one of fantasy.
SPEAKER_02Episode one. Fantasy.
SPEAKER_00More to come.
SPEAKER_02I feel loved. You are loved. And we're going to talk a lot of fantasy football. You and I have been doing fantasy football with each other a long time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02A long time. Long time. Yeah. So I'm like, you gotta get Steve on this pod, talk a little bit of football. Perfect timing though. It's redraft week. Next this week, next week. Game start on Wednesday. So we're gonna help you guys out. We're gonna talk sleepers, breakthroughs, things to look at, overall strategy. We're talking redraft or more dynasty guys, but we don't redraft.
SPEAKER_00Hey, I do redraft. I mean, it's not my bread and butter anymore. Nothing, but me neither. I uh I like some redraft. We're gonna mix it up. Okay.
The Case For Gibbs At 1.01
SPEAKER_00Question number one. Who's the number one pick in your redraft league? It doesn't matter what league, it should be Gibbs. Oh! Should be in every league. Okay. Go Gibbs. Okay. I'm a little surprised. I'm a Falcon fan. I know that he's thinking B. John, but I'm not a homer. Okay. New offense, new new everything. I uh I I like Gibbs.
SPEAKER_02You like Gibbs?
SPEAKER_00Gibbs has been in a consistency. The offense has been the same. It's uh it's a well-oiled machine.
SPEAKER_02I agree with you. Gibbs is my one-on-one, too. Um it's funny because I'm in I'm doing like four redrafts. We're doing like an office league, all these things. And Gibbs is not like even going one-on-one most of the time.
SPEAKER_00Well, because they're not experts.
SPEAKER_02No, they're not experts like we are, right? But yeah, there's something about Gibbs. I just feel like he's a little bit more explosive, breaks through those tackles. Something about Robinson, I like him. He's like a specimen. Bijan's a beast. But sometimes he just goes down, and I don't know why.
SPEAKER_00Here's uh they new offense scares me. I stay away from new offenses. Um I mean Bijan's only gonna you can't 102. Bijan. But Gibbs, you lose Montgomery, that's about 170 carries. He won't get all those, but he's still gonna get his lion share. He's still looking at you know 12 to 1400 yards, yeah. 700 yards or even you can't if you're in a PPR like format, like he's uh he's a goat.
SPEAKER_02Gibbs a guy, yeah. And he's just got paid leagues. But uh yeah, I think two. I like Stefansky for Falcons, uh, but first year, you're not feeling it? I'm okay. Two un panic scare me.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's that's my problem. Yeah, but uh and the defense is the defense is uh below average this year. So I think it was above average. They out outperformed last year. I think uh they're gonna spend a lot of time behind, so I think they're gonna be forced to throw, and that's not a good sign.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I think uh I think I said six and a half, seven and a half, maybe. Uh and in a division that they still can't.
SPEAKER_02I would pick below that. Are you guys tanking for Arch right now?
SPEAKER_00Uh that would be awesome.
SPEAKER_02Who who do you want? Okay, let's let's we're getting a little off track, but Falcons, like say you get the one-on-one pick next year in real life. Who would you want?
SPEAKER_00I would probably go Manning just because he's got the pedigree.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that that's how I would go. Um, you know, there's some I like I'm a duck fan, so I like more. I was gonna say, but he he has Mariota vibes just because of the winning. Yeah, and I'm like, uh so I don't know. I want someone who can throw the ball, who's not afraid to take a hit, yeah, and be a
Falcons Futures And New Offense Fears
SPEAKER_00like uh Jaden Daniels who's gonna run for his life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know, so like Arch is an incredible athlete. He can move. We'll see it. Yeah, him being a Sark's offense now with the third. So we'll see if it comes together. I don't think I like Carr, I like more, so we'll see. Yeah, the guy from South Carolina is it's throwing my mind right now. But his upside looks unreal too. He looks like a specimen, he looks like a beast.
SPEAKER_00Yes, why I'm throwing a blank. But this is fantasy. I wasn't prepared for college. This is fantasy, but we're not talking about it.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I just gotta get it.
SPEAKER_00Gibbs 101, Bichon 102.
SPEAKER_02Put in the book. I got Gibbs too. 101. So you got that 101, obviously. What are you doing? Okay, once you take your first quarterback and redraft.
SPEAKER_00I'm unconventional. Redraft, you're a 12 team, so you probably only need two or three. It's one quarterback. I wait till the sixth, seventh, eighth round. I go studs. I go running backs, and I go stud receivers in those first rounds. So the earliest sixth round. And that would mean Alan's on the board. If Alan's not there, then I wait till the eighth to take Lawrence or
When To Draft A Quarterback
SPEAKER_00Herbert. Okay. And then kind of fill it out from there. But um, I'm as you know, I know you're a Caleb fan. I think Caleb's way to blow my spot. Oh, oh I am a Caleb fan. That might be a breakout. That might be a break. Didn't he already break out? He had like 4,000 yards.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think he was quarterback number five, but I think he might be a little bit higher than that. But that's not part of the possibility. I see. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. So I I say redraft, I'm all like six to eight. Six to eight? Yeah, because you can still get a top tier and still be able to backfill your depth with um some quality guys between eight, nine, and ten. So I think it really depends on the flow of the draft because if a bunch of quarterbacks go off, you don't even have to worry.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I agree with you. I think around round six through eight, you know, round six, we're seeing like Drake May, Jaden Daniels, Caleb Williams. That's my dude. What do you think of Jane uh Jaden Daniels this year? Is it a little scary or like you're gonna take the upside with those rushing?
SPEAKER_00Scary. I literally just said in a league on sleeper, it gives me RG3 vibes this year. Oh bad.
SPEAKER_02And so that's no tonsil, that's the left tackle.
SPEAKER_00Ah, just and it's
Jaden Daniels Upside Versus Risk
SPEAKER_00a new offense. I think it's a new offensive coordinator.
SPEAKER_02It's a new offensive coordinator, but he was already in the system prior. So I'm not, and I'm not exactly sure if he's gonna run Kingsbury's system, but they have a Kingsbury. Yeah, they are familiar with each other.
SPEAKER_00I'm just I don't know. I like him. He's he's got the running, which makes it nice. Uh I that scares me though, because that means he's injury prone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's not a big quarterback already, right? And that was like the concern coming to the league. He's a running quarterback. Um, he can move, which is great for fantasy football, but he's not really big, you know. He's probably about 210, 215.
SPEAKER_00Uh, what is he, 6'3? Is he is he taller than that?
SPEAKER_02Uh 6'3, 6'4. Yeah, he's pretty tall. But he's a lengthy kid. Yeah. But they do uh Washington Commanders left lost their starting left tackle. Tunzel's all-pro left tackle. There's a lot of rumors going on that offensive line looks terrible.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't think it was good to be, I think it was average with Tunzel. And then Tunzel uh getting hurt, I think that that drops it. So what you get a nice, you get a good offensive line coach, like the Patriots used to have one back in the day. You can make anybody, you could take a tight end and make them a starting left tackle. Um I can't think of that dude's name, Sharonelli or something something. But but get a guy like that, then changes it. But I don't think they have that guy who can coach up those players.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, at least not this year, right? But it's a little concerning that the commanders haven't really done anything. They got Tonzo, right? But they gotta build that line. You see it with CJ Stroud. I mean, finally they're building that offensive line.
SPEAKER_00It might be too much. He might already be done.
SPEAKER_02Daniel Jones in the past, right? There's just all these quarterbacks. You gotta provide a to me, I'm building that off top. I'm always looking at top 10, top 15 offensive lines because it gets scary because injuries and I'm with you. I'm in the same boat. Yeah, I'm kind of off Daniels right now.
SPEAKER_00And that's why I like Bo a little bit because he has one of the strongest offensive lines.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And but he also does some things that Daniels does runs. He's kind of unorthodox, um, but at least he has an offensive line that can protect him for uh in a second or two more.
SPEAKER_02A second in an FL is a lifetime. Yeah, and the good thing with Daniels this year, though, I would say this, he's never really had weapons. Um, he's had McLaurin, but now they're bringing in Chig, the uh tight end. I like him. He's a good sleeper tight end. Uh just got signed a three-year deal. And then uh Stefan Diggs strikes.
SPEAKER_00But is he already tainted because he's a prior Titans
Breakout Wideouts And Target Share Bets
SPEAKER_00fan or a Titans player? I didn't say I was just saying. Don't tell Steven that I know.
SPEAKER_02Okay, who do you think this year's JSN is?
SPEAKER_00So don't look at my sheet. I'm not looking at your sheet because uh I think DJ Moore. DJ Moore! Tell me more about that. Uh how do you bet against the Bills? How do you bet against Alan? He is a bona fide number one more than anybody else has ever been there. So uh preseason, he targeted him like seven times in the first game. Yeah. And I'm like, that's what I want to see. So even though he's older, he's already had some breakout years, I can think he's the JSN where he averaged player to you know a number one, tier one number one.
SPEAKER_02I could see the shares for sure. Uh Shakir doesn't scare me though. No, Shakir, Kincaid's never on. He's gonna stay healthy. You know, and DJ Moore has been in the Brady's system before. That's the head coach of the Bills. Um, so I do like those aspects. I just don't know if DJ Moore is the same athlete he used to be. He's not in his prime. Um so I'll give you a little pushback on that, but I do like Jerry Rice was even in 40.
SPEAKER_00Is DJ Moore? No, but I'm just saying at 40. We're putting this on a short.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're putting it on the short. You can draft Jerry Rice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, but I mean, you're you can lose a step or two, but gain that in fundamentals, and it makes up. So I think DJ Moore is fundamentally sound.
SPEAKER_02I think so too. I like DJ Moore. And there are there are uh certain receivers in the league that um, like Allen, uh, you know, that just went to the Colts. It's it's been the league forever. Let's not talk about him.
SPEAKER_00That's a touchy subject right now.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Yeah, I forgot about that. We'll see if he plays week one. All right, minus Zayflowers, Baltimore Ravens. I've been picking up Zay Flowers in all my leagues. I've been giving up uh a few for him.
SPEAKER_00Way too much he's been given up.
SPEAKER_02Um and I like him because he's really the only target that they have, and they just paid him a boatload of money. He's in his prime, 25 years old, and you watch this guy, he is like like a joystick, like you're in a video game. Lamar Jackson, all pearl quarterback, can sling it. So say flowers.
SPEAKER_00Are you worried about the new offense? Or you think they're gonna pass more?
SPEAKER_02Um that is a question, Mark, for sure.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I know they want to pass more, but will they?
SPEAKER_02Uh I don't know. I mean, Derek Henry is obviously a beast, but I've been bending against him. I've been losing. There's no there's no targets going to Derrick Henry. Um, I think Andrews is up there. I still I like Mark Andrews, the tight end of Baltimore Ravens, as a number two tight end, getting the targets. Yeah. There's a lot of positive things of uh Jacoby Lane um being the slot receiver from USC. Got traffic in the third round.
SPEAKER_00Beatman's not really stealing a lot of targets.
SPEAKER_02They're saying like they're moving around more, he's gonna get more involved, but he just never so I just feel like JSN, he just had nobody around him, kind of like DJ Moore. So I like that take. It's just how much target share can they get?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and it really comes down to And Josh Allen did it with Stefan Diggs.
SPEAKER_02I know, I know. But I think Stefan Diggs is better than DJ.
SPEAKER_00But he was old. He was older though when he did it. Did he? Yeah, I think he was I don't know if it was.
SPEAKER_02All right.
Redraft Roster Builds And Depth Rules
SPEAKER_02Number next, what is your overall strategy when you go on the slate? You kind of gave us a little bit of it, but uh redraft, draft studs.
SPEAKER_00Start with running backs, uh fill in tight. I mean, depending on your build, if you're doing two running back and three receiver and some flex, you can't win without running backs, and you can't win without one at least one stud receiver and a stud quarterback. So if you got a tight end premium, then I jump them up. I know um I was talking to uh Pumpkin13 and he was talking running backs to tight ends. That's like the the theme of most drafts. And I'm like, I yeah, if you have a tight end premium, I'm for it. But if there's no premium, then I'll get the the lion's share. Yeah. So uh but I have running backs. If you if you're back into the first, take rookie. Don't take Jacobs, take someone else. Um but there's enough running backs out there. But there's it's it's a it's a drop-off though from the 12 and then then whatever. And so you gotta get at least one. And so I just say get studs, people that you know are consistent. I stay away from rookies mostly and redraft.
SPEAKER_02Would you take Shriblin?
SPEAKER_00When round 12. Sure, that's a fire. He's not a starter.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Um, but I mean there's an uh Jeremiah Love, round three.
SPEAKER_00No, absolutely not. Already hurt, he hasn't even played the football yet. Like uh there's no role for him, and that's where I I like I like guys who have established roles, especially in redraft, because it's one and done. I mean, dynasty is completely different. Yeah, so you reach in dynasty because there's the hope of next year. Yeah, um, but I need I need to put on the best team right now, today. So I'm chasing points, and I don't think love's getting me the points. I think Algiers gonna eat into it, Connor's gonna eat into it. Um, I even I mean price, even I'm I like price, but uh that the the price tag is too high that right.
SPEAKER_02Uh get the pun right there. Uh so my shadow. I like your strategy. Uh I've always been like in redraft to the um the running backs too. I've been kind of mixing it up this year, trying to go more upside. So it's not so much the running back, wide receiver, tight end, it's who I think has the most upside for like those first five picks. I've been noticing I've been getting like a lot of brock bowers, like, and I don't usually go tight end early. Especially in the first I mean I know why but he might get 130 catches this year. I mean, it's like they have nobody to throw to.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_02So it's Trey Tucker. Let him let him feast. Yeah, five eight Trey Tucker. Yeah, absolutely. He stays on the field. I have no idea who does it. But um, yeah, so my suggestion is go upside for the first five picks, hit your quarterback, six to eighth round, and then tighten up your starting lineup and then just you know take flyers with upside after that. But I'm fine with that.
SPEAKER_00That I mean that to me, you're chasing points. So who's gonna get you the points?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so because you could have like four really great players and the rest of the team sucks, and you're a playoff team.
SPEAKER_00Especially in the redraft.
SPEAKER_02Especially in redraft.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, it happens all the time, right? And I do kind of like this year, like getting four, like if if the the redraft league is big enough and you have enough flexes, like if I have it's usually it's two running backs and it's one or two flexes. If I have two flexes, I try to get like four running backs that are potentially starters. I always have that depth and versatility.
SPEAKER_00If I have to start two, I like to have five. So if I need to start three receivers, I like to have six or seven receivers. Like I like because injuries are bound to happen. Um I like to have three, a minimum two on a single quarterback. Uh I like to have two. If there's you like two. I do two. I always do two. Uh depending on who's out there. I mean, if it's garbage on the waiver wire, then that's why I like to.
SPEAKER_02If I go late, I go two, because then I play the matchup.
SPEAKER_00But if I get like a Caleb Williams, then you're gonna ride that out. Nobody, nobody else. Yeah, I usually but I uh I play in some leagues still who you have kickers, and so I don't draft a kicker because I want to get another flyer on again. I gotcha. Like a stripling or something. Yeah, he's like, and then so
Breakouts By Position QB To TE
SPEAKER_00like like I've got to make some cuts this week in order to because I've got to get a kicker because I mean that's nine points. Yeah, what league is that? What are we going to forget? Is that crits? There's a few of them.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Um number next. Okay, let's get to breakouts. Who we're gonna do Is Breakout like young and hasn't done anything?
SPEAKER_00Let's get that as well.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. So breakout is somebody who I what and I should have specified, I was even thinking this before the let's talk about it. So there's a difference between a breakout and a sleeper. Breakout is somebody who's probably in the first, I don't know, it can be anywhere from third to eighth round that hasn't exploded yet, but now is you know gets to that next level, but it has has a has a name already. The sleepers are like nobody's talking about um that potentially is gonna get up to that next level. Okay, does that make sense?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, bounce back or old dudes who maybe were good, but had a yeah, that too.
SPEAKER_02It could be a sleeper like Matt Stafford was a breakout last year, right? Like yeah, or was he a bounce back?
SPEAKER_00Or bounce back, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, see the see where I'm at.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01We're saying breakout.
SPEAKER_00Okay, breakout, breakout. Together, breakout. So who's my breakout? Who's your breakout quarterback? Uh quarterback. Or it can be quarterbacks.
SPEAKER_02I might have a couple here. Breakout quarterback. I mean, they're gonna do better. I guess overall, they're gonna have a better season than last year.
SPEAKER_00Cam Ward and Tyler Sharp.
SPEAKER_02See, I would have them as sleepers.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you would do the sleeper?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So then breakout would be like a Danny Dimes.
SPEAKER_02So I think you've already said these guys. So I have Caleb Williams. I know he was the fifth quarterback of last year, but I think there's a very good chance Ben Johnson came out the other day. He wants to put up the most amount of points and potentially could be the number one quarterback. We'll see if we can get his accuracy down. But the guys that you mentioned, which I thought were interesting as well, were Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence. So tell me more about that.
SPEAKER_00I would take them as uh I'll I think Trevor Lawrence, I thought he was gonna win MVP last year. I mean, I that was my before the season started, and then obviously things changed, but uh number one receiving number one depth of receivers. He's got more receivers than anybody else. I think he has three 3,000 yard receivers currently on the team. Yeah, so I think he could do uh I love T Law, but I don't know if he's I hated him until like last year.
SPEAKER_02I and I traded like all my shares, and then you're right, the second half of last year. I turned it on. Yeah. Was that his breakout? I don't know see this is where it gets a little fine. But I'm a duck fan of games. But do you think Trevor Lawrence potentially have a better year this year?
SPEAKER_00I I believe Herbert should have a better year than than Lawrence. And because of because of Mike McDaniels. Yeah, he can't that dude is uh Savant, is that what it is? Like he's a rain man when it comes uh when it comes to the plays. So um I don't know. I like Herbert if we go that if we're using breakout and all that.
SPEAKER_02I say I like Herbert too.
SPEAKER_00I think he's gonna have a year. He always everybody wants him to do good, but he always stays within that like eight to nine range and like even 12 depending on the draft format. Yeah, um, but if he can jump into the top five, then I'd say yeah, that's a breakout.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I will I'm going Herbert then.
SPEAKER_02He may need to stop smitching his fiancee on the sidelines, but um I like Herbert too. I like Lawrence, like Caleb. I think they're both all three of those potentially are gonna have better years this year than last year. Yeah, Jaguars have the receivers to do it. Uh Thomas Parker Washington, um, another guy who is super underrated starter uh Myers that nobody picks up, but a great fourth or fifth receiver. He's gonna get a ton of targets this year.
SPEAKER_00Redraft, you get him late. Yeah. Yeah. And he'll be the he'd probably be their number one.
SPEAKER_02I have a lot of shares of him. He's interesting. So okay. Breakout running backs. Nice Hampton. All right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean he's a I have Hampton. Yeah, but okay. I'll give it to you. Wait, hold on. Uh let's No, no, no, go. You're gonna pick somebody else. Probably pick somebody else.
SPEAKER_02I got I came up with like multiple.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02I get excited.
SPEAKER_00Uh Hampton again, we go back to the offense. So the same as Herbert, Hampton can do everything that uh Bijan can or Gibbs can do. Yeah, he's a big he's a big body back. They want to run, they want to establish. I don't know, McDaniel said three running backs. We'll see it. You gotta have three good running backs to run. You know, it's you're fine.
SPEAKER_02I think I think he'll go. I think that's coach speak.
SPEAKER_00I think that's just saying, hey, this is training camp. We want everybody to compete. Yes. Uh no. I didn't believe it is. We know that he's the stud.
SPEAKER_02Did you see check out the highlights of a Marion Hampton against 49ers in practice? Did you see it? Uh huh. He was running over linebackers. He's excited. I have linebacker. He's going like round three, he might be the number one uh running back of the year. I love that pick. My pick. Travis E. T. Okay. I don't know why there is no hype on Travis Etienne. E. T.N. or E. Excuse me. Thank you for correcting me. Um Travis E. Chane. Um he uh just signed a 40-year deal with the New Orleans Saints from the Jaguars. Uh big deal, I think it's 12 million a year. So he got paid, um, which is always a great sign from running backs. That's another part. We're talking dynasty. One of my strategies is running backs that get paid because I actually get the touches in the shares.
SPEAKER_00I'm actually opposite because once they get paid, they get lazy. Sometimes that happens to I I I try to change it.
SPEAKER_02James Cook got better. He did. Uh McCaffrey got better.
SPEAKER_00Um didn't he get hurt right after he got paid? I don't know. I think he I have to look to that. But no, I it does happen, though. I like eight-chain. I think that's good. Um round seven, eight-chain's gone right now. Camaro's old, so he'll have a limited role and Neil and Neil's already on IR. Who's the other guy? Miller's always injured. Yeah, Miller's always injured.
SPEAKER_02And I think there's a lot why he's going so late is because Camaro's a name, and he got paid six million, which I have no idea how Camaro's getting paid. He means that man has a shell of himself. I love the New Orleans Saints for being a loyal organization because you never see it. And he's gonna have some kind of role, but guys, he I believe he's on IR too, or he's gonna be out for a month or two already. And this is a young top 10 offensive line, and I love that system. The Saints system is beautiful. Watch, they move around a lot. Hane, I think, is gonna get a ton of targets. And touches, and he can break the big one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm well I love that one. I'd take that. He would be in my top couple, like four or five rounds where if you can get him as a number two running back, I'd probably have to take him second or third round, actually, if if my my strategy. But he would be in my number two in Dynasty. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I have him at my number two running back in a lot of leagues as well. So okay. Wide receiver breakouts. No cheating. Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_00Uh buyer stable. You got this piece of paper in front of you. Uh McConkie. I'm it was just there's a theme here. Yes, I like this. There's a theme. I like McConkey. Let's just stay with the Chargers. Yeah, yeah. Like if you like Mike McDaniels and you like their offense, Hampton, Herbert, McConkie. McConkie was broken last year, but his uh rookie year, he showed what he can do. Georgia, he was amazing. And so under underrated uh route runner, he's always open. And so I think McDaniels will showcase that. Yeah. So that's what I want. That's I want the especially in a PPR. I want McConkie in a PPR. Um those burners, like the Tates and stuff, like they're one trick ponies. I don't stay away from those guys. Um but those are good breakout guys. If you want a Tate or you want a McMillan, I want someone that's coming across the middle and doesn't mind taking a hit and grabbing a ball and moving the chains.
SPEAKER_02So I like McConkie too. He's very uh versatile, can play in the slot, he can go outside. Uh great route runner, great hands. He's explosive. He's fast and he can run the nine. So I like that. And I like that you just read the beat writer for the Chargers. That's it. Or is he reading Mike's after the spot? Yeah, maybe. All right, I got a couple, and I want your thoughts on these guys. My breakouts are Devontae Smith, Jalen Waddle, and Christian Watson. Go! Who's your favorite of those three? Waddle.
SPEAKER_00Waddle. Why? Uh because they traded for him and paid a pretty penny for him. Great offensive line, and Bo Nix is a gunslinger. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So they throw a lot. They throw a lot more than people think.
SPEAKER_00I think Sutton, I think everybody's worried about Sutton. Sutton, again, you talked about shell of themselves. I think he has a role. I don't think he'll be the man. I think there's gonna be like a passing of the baton. I think Waddle's coming in. I think he wants to prove people that he wasn't just a Mike McDaniels guy. He did great in Alabama, and he's a he's a player. So um I think they're I'm worried about that that division. That is the toughest division, and they're probably they might be a wild card. Yeah, that's what's scary. It is.
SPEAKER_02So I like Waddle too. I think they're gonna create a lot of plays for him, a lot of check downs and get him in space because he's so fast. So I like his opportunities. A little concerned about what his target share is gonna be compared to a Devante, uh uh Devontae Smith. They're a low passing offense, anyways.
SPEAKER_00And so that's why I don't say Devante, because uh even last year. That is true. They're low passing offense. They want to run, run, run. So Devonta will get his. I don't think it will be any more than usual.
SPEAKER_02Um, but I think I get if I had a pick, though, I'd lean Devante. You wouldn't, okay. I would lean it, but I would be happy with either of those. I like Christian. I just his injuries. He looked insane though last year. I know. And he got paid. Uh Christian Watson, wide receiver for the Packers. Um, Jaden Reed can never stay healthy. I think Matt Matthew Golden is not good. And Tucker Kraft, I guess, is his big uh, you know, if he comes back healthy. Christian Watson is a great late later round receiver. He's he can run the nine. So run the nine. The guy's like 6'3 and he runs a 4'3. So he's gonna have those games where he gets you two touchdowns or 100 yards. He will win you weeks. He will win you weeks.
SPEAKER_00So I think he won a few weeks last year.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00So I'm I'm I like those.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay, cool. We should break out of tight end. Don't take mine.
SPEAKER_00Oh gosh. I don't even know. Um let's go unconventional. Let's let's go Helm. What? Yeah. Okay, that's a sleeper. That is uh Do we have sleeper tight ends on this too? We're gonna have sleeper tens. Oh, okay, well. Save that for later. Let's do likely. Let's do likely.
SPEAKER_02Likely?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think likely showed flashes. He was the number two. Um he's now the number ones. If he see if you can put on the big boy pants and play with the number ones. Um, I think he's got the talent, he's got the athleticism. So if he can if Dark can in him they can have a connection, I think it'll be good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I like Likely too. Um he's probably the number two target there. My concern is though, in the preseason, they were playing him in Johnson. So is he gonna be like the true Y tight end and then make him out of slot? I don't think he can block. I don't think he can block either. So that is a problem because that happens to Kincaid. Kincaid's gonna be a good one.
SPEAKER_00But they don't have receivers, so if you kick him out, who are they who are they sitting? Um they um Hyatt's gone, Slayton's gonna get cut.
SPEAKER_02I think likely will be the slot, he'll play big slot, and I like Fields.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think I don't think Fields shares, but like I think he's neighbors fields and likely would almost act as like the slot and then go against the nickel defense. I think he wins those matchups every week.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I agree. I I like likely at all a lot, but the the thing is is how much time is he on the field? So and I and you I assumed once he got paid, he was gonna be on the field all the time. But preseasons kind of tell us that might not be the case. So be careful of that pick. Okay, but he's going later. I mean, he's going like uh 11th, 12th round.
SPEAKER_00So it's and he's not he's his upside. Yeah, maybe a two. He has the upside of a top five tight end. 10-12.
SPEAKER_02Like the neighbors may not even play week one.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, I think that's a good upside, like you said in the very beginning. Strategy take upside, guys. Okay, we got three minutes of rapid fire.
Rapid Fire Sleepers And Final Picks
SPEAKER_00All right, sleeper running backs, go!
SPEAKER_02Um, okay. I got I got two in, J.K. Dobbins, Jonathan Brooks, Jordan Mason. Who do you like from that group, Brooks? Brooks? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've got a lot of shares. I invested in him when he was down. Apparently he's playing week one. Yeah. Are you worried about it? No, no, I love it. I want him to win the job? Yeah, Chuba is garbage.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So uh, and yeah, so I like Dobbins too because of the offensive line. So Dobbins, you can get later than Brooks because Brooks got all the hype right now. But Dobbins is should look good as long as he stays healthy. Both of these guys stay healthy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think Twoin has probably the highest upside. Brooks has maybe the second highest upside, and Dobbins is probably the safest. If if Dobbins stays healthy, he's an RB2. But that line, he's yeah, I think he's incredibly underrated. That guy breaks tackles, he looks great, and you can just you can get him in. If you're in dynasty guys, go get J.K. Dobbins if you need an extra running back. He throw a future second. They do that trade every time. Oh, yeah. Same with Michael Pittman, probably the number one receiver for the four that and they just gave him a contract section Steelers. You can get him for two all days, too.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, easy. Starters that are gonna put a lot of points for you. So, okay, I like that. And I like Jordan Mason. We'll see what he can do. Same thing.
SPEAKER_00You can get him for a second, late second, um, or very at back end or free agent guy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So okay, number next, sleeper wide receivers. We got Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, and Jalen Coker. Who do you like?
SPEAKER_00I don't like any of those guys. Who do you like? Really? I don't like any of those guys.
SPEAKER_02Well, what would your sleeper receiver then?
SPEAKER_00Uh I would do Zachariah Branch. Oh, what?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Redraft?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, uh redraft? No. No, okay.
SPEAKER_02I so big all over the place now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Sorry, I'm not a dynasty. Um Downs is hurt already. That's our next one. Dynasty.
SPEAKER_02Dynasty. Downs is always hurt. Downs hurt? Okay, pick one. Coker or Pittman?
SPEAKER_00Downs. I'll take Downs out of those three.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Pittman, I don't like. I think he's clunky. And Poker, I think he is he's a number two or three on that offense. And so I don't really like, I don't think he can suppress. Yeah. But that's just me.
SPEAKER_02Um well I I think Michael Pittman's the perfect quarterback for Aaron Rodgers. He likes that big receiver's possession base. I think that's going to be a good fit. Josh Johnson, I agree with you too. He gets injured all the time, but he may have, if he stays healthy, he's probably getting the most catches out of that. And then Jalen Coker. I like him a lot. Just got paid a three-year deal. Clearly the number two target in Carolina, and they're going to have to throw a lot.
SPEAKER_00So that's it.
SPEAKER_02Or they run Jonathan Brooks. Did say my breakout? Tyler Warren's my breakout tight end. And sleeper tight ends. You said a tiny likely. I have a Dallas Goddard, Mark Andrews, and Chig. Chig. Love it.
SPEAKER_01All right. That's Fantasy Football 101 redraft. Thank you, Steve, for being on. You see this guy buying a beard. Guys, he's running Vegas to kick himself today.
SPEAKER_00Final. Thanks.
